Detection

Mono (default) tracks one note at a time — most reliable for single-line playing. Poly (experimental) detects simultaneous notes/chords via a harmonic-product-spectrum peak picker.

Poly max notes

notes

Poly mode only: the most simultaneous notes shown per frame. Peaks are ranked by strength, so a lower cap keeps the strongest voices and drops the weak tail (mostly octave/fifth ghosts). Default 4 (triads/sevenths); try 3 for cleaner triads.

Poly onset

frames

Poly mode only: frames a peak must persist before it registers as a note. Higher rejects single-frame blips (at a little onset latency); 1 is most immediate. Default 2.

Poly floor

0–255

Poly mode only: absolute magnitude floor on the FFT axis (0–255). Raise it so soft passages / note decays stop lighting noise-floor bumps as stray notes; 0 disables it. Default 115.

Poly rel

Poly mode only: a peak is kept only if its HPS strength is at least this fraction of the strongest peak's. Higher keeps only the most prominent voices; 0 disables the relative gate. Default 0.2.

Poly dedup

Poly mode only: suppress an octave/octave-fifth peak that sits above a stronger note unless it reaches this fraction of that note's strength (a real played octave stays; an overtone ghost is dropped). Lower suppresses more aggressively; 0 turns ghost suppression off. Default 0.5.

Spectrum bar

Spectrum display resolution: the frequency width of each bar in the spectrum, in Hz. Smaller = more, finer bars across the visible range; larger = fewer, wider bars. Takes effect live. Default 10 Hz.

Velocity ceiling

0–255

Poly mode: the peak magnitude (0–255) mapped to full MIDI velocity 127. Lower it so loud playing reaches 127 instead of stalling short; raise it if everything reads too loud. Takes effect live. Default 210.

Velocity floor

1–127

The MIDI velocity given to the softest detected strike (mono and poly). Raise it if quiet notes come through too weak; lower it for a wider dynamic range. Takes effect live. Default 10.

Noise gate

% level

Noise gate: mic input quieter than this share of full-scale level is ignored before pitch detection. Raise it to reject background noise; 0 turns the gate off.

Clarity

% min

Detection confidence gate: how clearly pitched a sound must be (0–100%) to register a note. Raise it to reject noisy/unpitched input; lower it if real notes are missed.

Tolerance

Cents

Deviation from the frequency of a note in both directions. A semitone spans 100 Cents.

Reference pitch for A4 (concert pitch). Retunes note detection live and tunes the sampler; default 440 Hz.

MIDI Range

Range in which notes are recognized: A♭2 - C6

Note symbols

Sheet view: when on, a note's symbol shortens with how long it was held (whole → half → quarter → …). Off (default) shows every note as a whole note.
